this weekend was pretty special for me. For the first time, I visited a wedding as photographer together with the Michael, Mauriz and Filipa of http://www.dein-set.de/. Thanks again Michael for giving me this great opportunity! It was a lot of fun, but also pretty exhausting. The wedding was in a pretty small town near Zurich in Switzerland. It was a pretty big wedding, with over 120 people attending. But lets start at the beginning. On Friday morning, we packed all of our gear and headed to Zurich to meet up with the bridal couple and set up our stuff. We had a Photobooth, were every wedding guest could take his or her photo directly print it and put it in the guest book. Also we assembled a lightroom working place right there, to sort the pictures and make a very quick first editing. This way, we could already show the first pictures to the guests in the afternoon. The wedding day itself started for us at 06:00 with torrential rain, when we headed out to accompany the couple for their dressing and styling. Michael and Mauriz accompanied the bride while Filipa and I took care of the groom. Fabian (The groom) is manager of his own construction company. So we thought, why not make the shooting on one of his construction sides. We did two separate shooting with each, before we arranged their meeting in an park and did the most important couple shooting there. Thank god, the rain stopped right before the outside shootings, but unfortunately we had a small problem with our photo printer, why Filipa and I had to head to the nearest city to buy a new one. So unfortunately I missed the couple shooting, but the pictures Michael took, are absolutely stunning! I will put a link in here as soon as they are edited and online. After the official couple shooting, we headed to the restaurant right at the top of a mountain (for those of you who’ve never been to Europe before, Switzerland is right in the Alps) where the wedding itself took place. The wedding ceremony itself took place in the afternoon, outside in a nice small pavilion. Unfortunately right before the bridal couple was going to say “Yes I will” it started raining again. But a little rain couldn’t stop them by then ;-) and all in all, it was a nice ceremony. After that, we also photographed the following party till 00:30 the following day, which was pretty tough as we already got up pretty early. Even though I also carried my camera around all day when we were in the states, it never felt so heavy as it did for the last few hours of this wedding.
All in all, it was a great and fun weekend. We met a bunch of nice people and took a lot of great pictures. The picture I chose for this weeks pic, is one from the groom shooting. It shows Fabian and and his father on the construction side.
Now as I’m back home again (and back to my day to day routine) I’m already planning the shooting for next weekend. It’ll be an awesome (and a little creepy) portrait again. So make sure to check by next Monday to see how this’ll turn out!
Until then – Florian
