I’m so excited! I ordered a new lens this week. This time I got myself a nice Tamron SP 70 – 200mm f/2.8. So I finally got some decent lenses that cover most of the focal range I usually work with. It always takes me a long time, from the first wish to get a new gadget, till the point I finally buy it. And this is even more true for photo stuff as this is always so darn expensive. But after extensive research, even more extensive pondering over what I really need (compared to what I want..) and some hands on testing in my local photo store, I finally decided for this Tamron. Unfortunately it just arrived, so I didn’t really have the chance to test it out, but I will do this extensively during the next few weeks.
Also, after analysing my weekly pictures, I found, that I don’t do much pictures with Bokeh, even though, I really like pictures with Bokeh. Hell, that was what I got my Canon EF 50mm f1.4 for. Ok, admittedly, it is hard to use Bokeh with the compositions I usually do. And as I want most of my pics to be pretty sharp, I usually shoot with an aperture of at least f/8. But now I’m anxious to try some Bokeh shots in the next weeks. You always have to push yourself in directions you didn’t go before, in order to get better and learn something new.
Like most people nowadays, I spent at least some hours a day in front of the PC. And on most days, it is significantly more than just a few hours. Don’t get me wrong, I like spending time with photoshopping, playing games, or just surfing the web. But there always is this moment when it’s enough and you need a break. If you don’t listen to your inner voice and stretch this moment for too long, this is what happens ;-).
I used a 3 strobe setup again. One softbox right in front of me as mainlight. One softbox above and slightly behind me for rim light. One bare strobe cam left, to lighten up the headphones a bit.
