Hello and welcome to my first few days of vacation!
As promised, for the next 3 weeks I will post something a little different than usual.
Marie and I arrived in Washington today. We spent our first 3 vacation days mostly in Manhattan. I’ll have to say, this city is even more impressive than I thought it would be. The thing that suprised me most, are not the impressive skyscrapers, not the central garden and not the constant buzz this city is awake with, but the New Yorkers themself. Even in my best dreams, I couldn’t have imagined that these people are so nice and helpful all the time. It has happend to us a couple of times, that somebody just came to us, asking if he could help. Be it with the Metro Card Vending machines, or just helping us finding the right way. Awesome! Unfortunatly the weather was much less nice to us. The day we arrived in NYC, it was like 32°C and the humidity was higher than in the jungle. The next day, we got up at 5:00 because of our jetlag, which was pretty fortunate for us, because it gave us the chance to watch the skyline light up in the early morning light from Brooklin. Just 3 hours later, clouds began to creep in from the sea and the weather got worse and worse. The next morning it was raining cats and dogs. So we took the oportunity to go see the Grand Central Station. Thank god, the rain stopped at noon but the weather kept pretty cloudy for the rest of our stay exept some hours on saturday night were we went to take some pictures of the Flat Iron Building. But we will be back to Manhattan for 3 days at the end of our vacation. But first, we will go exploring in Washington for a bit now. Stay tuned for the next bunch of pictures of our trip.
I did just a very quick and dirty retouching in lightroom with the pictures.
Until then – Florian
